Description

The North Face Minoqua Down Jacket is a streamlined, lightweight insulated jacket designed to provide substantial warmth without the bulk of the brand’s larger expedition-style puffers.

Finished in classic TNF Black, this example uses horizontally quilted down chambers through the body and sleeves, with a clean stand collar and full-length front zip. The jacket is insulated with 600-fill down, giving it a strong warmth-to-weight balance for everyday winter use, travel and outdoor layering.

The design is deliberately simple and functional. Details include two zipped hand pockets, elasticated cuffs, an adjustable hem, embroidered The North Face Half Dome branding at the left chest and rear right shoulder, and an embroidered 600 insulation mark at the sleeve. The Minoqua was also designed as a lightweight, packable piece, with retail documentation for this model noting that it can be packed into its own pocket.

Compared with the much bulkier 1996 Nuptse silhouette, the Minoqua has a slimmer, more conventional jacket shape. That makes it particularly wearable as an everyday black outer layer rather than exclusively as a statement puffer.

This example presents exceptionally well. The black shell, insulation, embroidered logos, seams and lining remain very clean, with little evidence of general wear. The primary signs of age are cosmetic discolouration to some metal hardware and discolouration to the internal care label.

Grading type: Standard

Grade A - Like New. The jacket is in excellent overall pre-owned condition with little to no visible general wear. The black outer shell remains clean and consistent, the down chambers retain good loft, embroidered branding is excellent, stitching is intact and the lining presents very well.

All zips and hardware are functional. Some metal hardware shows cosmetic discolouration/oxidation. The internal care label also shows age-related discolouration. These issues do not affect wear or functionality.

Please review the dedicated Condition Photos below for close-up images of the noted cosmetic wear.

Visible Flaws

Cosmetic discolouration to metal zipper/hardware components. Discolouration to internal care label. No significant holes, tears, stains, damaged embroidery or obvious down leakage visible in the supplied photographs.

About the Brand

Founded in San Francisco in 1966, The North Face began as a specialist climbing and backpacking retailer before moving into the design and manufacture of technical mountaineering equipment and apparel. The company began producing its own technical products in the late 1960s and has subsequently become one of the most recognised outdoor brands globally.

Down insulation has become one of the defining elements of The North Face outerwear catalogue. Although models such as the Nuptse occupy the more recognisable fashion end of the brand’s down-jacket history, designs such as the Minoqua sit closer to the lightweight technical/everyday layering side of the range.
