Description
An original German work shirt from the Eisenfest line by BMZ Berufskleidung. The olive green colour and pronounced herringbone twill distinguish it from the blue cotton jackets more commonly associated with French workwear.
The shirt follows a practical European occupational design with a pointed collar, five-button front and three exterior patch pockets. A chest pocket sits on the left side, joined by two large lower pockets for tools and everyday essentials. Double-stitched sleeve seams and a centre-back seam reinforce the straightforward workwear construction.
The 100% cotton herringbone twill has a substantial handle and clearly visible zigzag weave. It has softened through previous wear while retaining its shape and strong olive colour. The jacket is unlined, making it suitable as a light outer layer or for wearing over a sweatshirt or knit.
Its simple construction, useful pockets and understated colour place it firmly within traditional European workwear. It also works well as an everyday chore jacket with denim, military trousers or relaxed tailoring.

About the Brand
Eisenfest was a workwear line produced or distributed by BMZ Berufskleidung for the German occupational-clothing market. “Berufskleidung” translates directly as professional or occupational clothing.
Surviving public information about BMZ and the Eisenfest line is limited. Labels and remaining garments show that the company produced practical cotton clothing intended for industrial, trade and maintenance work. The Eisenfest name can also be found on vintage BMZ work trousers and related garments.
This shirt reflects the wider postwar German workwear tradition. Durable cotton twills, numerical European sizing, patch pockets and uncomplicated construction were used to create garments that could withstand repeated wear and industrial laundering. These functional designs later became important references for modern heritage workwear and military-influenced casual clothing.
