Product Details
Description
An original vintage Nike track jacket dating from approximately the late 1980s to early 1990s.
The jacket uses a striking black, deep purple and mint teal colour combination. Curved teal bands cross the chest and continue around the back. Angular black and purple panels create a distinctive geometric sportswear design across both sides of the jacket.
A mint embroidered Nike name and Swoosh sit on the left chest. Other details include a full-length front zip, high track collar, two zipped hand pockets and ribbed cuffs and hem. The jacket was made in Malaysia and retains its original grey Nike label.
The original size tag reads M. Its broad chest and dropped upper construction give it proportions closer to a modern men’s L. Please use the measurements provided rather than relying only on the tagged size.
Presented in very good vintage condition overall. There are no major holes, heavy pilling, significant fading or loss of shape. A small section of stitching has opened at the front neckline where the mint and purple panels meet. This is clearly photographed and has been considered in the Grade B assessment.
The exact Nike range and original product code could not be confirmed from the available labels. It has therefore not been attributed to a specific Nike tennis, running or training collection.

About the Brand
Nike began as Blue Ribbon Sports in Oregon in 1964. The company was founded by athletics coach Bill Bowerman and runner Phil Knight. It initially operated as a distributor of Japanese running shoes in the United States.
The Nike name and Carolyn Davidson’s Swoosh appeared in 1971. Originally designed to suggest movement and speed, the Swoosh later became one of the most recognisable symbols in global sportswear.
By the late 1980s and early 1990s, Nike apparel had moved beyond technical sports clothing into everyday streetwear. Track jackets from this period often used oversized cuts, bright contrast colours and geometric panelling. Original grey-label examples are now sought after for their unmistakable period styling.
