Description
An original HEAD PORTER Boston bag in navy, produced during the now-discontinued Japanese label’s original run.
The bag uses a clean cylindrical Boston/duffle silhouette with a smooth navy nylon body and substantial woven carry straps running vertically around the body for additional structure. Rather than relying on a large exterior logo patch, the branding is integrated into the construction through the distinctive HEAD PORTER logo tape running alongside the main zip, repeating the HEAD PORTER wordmark with small orange luggage icons.
The main compartment opens through a long double-zip closure, with branded fabric zipper pulls continuing the logo-tape treatment. Both ends of the bag incorporate exterior slip pockets, while the interior includes additional zip storage. A padded wrap at the top of the straps makes the bag comfortable to carry either by hand or over the shoulder.
The tonal navy construction makes this noticeably more understated than many classic PORTER designs. Its relatively minimal body is broken up by the cream-and-orange branded tape, giving it a recognisable early-2000s Japanese accessories aesthetic without becoming overtly logo-driven.
This example is particularly desirable because the original HEAD PORTER Product Guaranteed card remains present. The label itself has been discontinued since 2019, so surviving examples with original accompanying pieces and strong overall condition are becoming increasingly relevant to collectors of Japanese design, Porter/Yoshida accessories and Hiroshi Fujiwara-era product.
Condition is very good overall. The nylon retains good colour and structure, the HEAD PORTER branding remains clear, the straps and stitching are strong, and the hardware operates correctly. There are several very light surface scuffs to the exterior and a barely visible interior scuff, primarily noticeable only under close inspection.
Please see the dedicated Condition Photos below for close-up documentation.

About the Brand
HEAD PORTER was established in Japan in 1998, combining Yoshida Kaban’s established bag-manufacturing expertise with design direction associated with Hiroshi Fujiwara. The label developed its own textiles and designs as well as distinctive interpretations of established PORTER formats, becoming particularly associated with Japanese streetwear and design culture through the 2000s and 2010s.
Yoshida Kaban manufactured HEAD PORTER’s bags, giving the line the construction quality associated with PORTER while HEAD PORTER pursued a more fashion-led identity. The brand ceased operation following the Spring/Summer 2019 season, after approximately two decades, with the business subsequently transitioning into RAMIDUS.
