Description
This NUMBER (N)INE pullover hoodie was released in 2020 as a special-order DEAD A ROSES graphic model.
The front is intentionally understated with a plain brown finish, drawstring hood and kangaroo pocket. The back carries the main artwork with oversized orange and red lettering framing a black, white, orange and red collage. Orange Old English “number 9” lettering runs down the left sleeve.
The hoodie is made from 100% cotton with a loopback interior. Ribbed cuffs and a wide ribbed waistband complete the relaxed silhouette. The longer body and 52cm shoulders give it a substantial profile without becoming excessively wide through the chest.
The back artwork and sleeve print remain in excellent condition. There are faint residual white marks across parts of the hoodie and a mark on the left sleeve. Many of the original surface marks were removed during cleaning. The remaining marks are difficult to see in natural light but may become more apparent under strong lighting. There are no holes, visible pilling or loss of shape.

About the Brand
NUMBER (N)INE was founded in Tokyo by Takahiro Miyashita in the 1990s. The label’s name references “Revolution 9” by The Beatles and reflects the strong connection to music that runs throughout its design history.
Miyashita built NUMBER (N)INE around rock culture, Americana, military clothing and Japanese streetwear. Graphics, distressed finishes and musical references became central parts of the label’s identity. He departed after the Autumn/Winter 2009 collection and later established TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist.
NUMBER (N)INE subsequently continued under new ownership. This hoodie is a later 2020 release rather than an original Miyashita-era archive garment, but its bold collage artwork and music-led graphic direction draw directly from the label’s established visual language.
