Description
Rare HEAD PORTER Boston bag from the discontinued Black Beauty Dot series.
The bag uses a lightweight black nylon shell covered in a fine white micro-dot pattern. Its long barrel-shaped construction is reinforced by wide wraparound webbing handles, with padded sections at each end and a full-width zipped opening across the upper section.
Storage includes a large lined main compartment, a full-width exterior zipped pocket, zipped compartments at both ends and a clear internal zipped organiser. External webbing straps with hook-and-loop fastenings were designed to secure a skateboard against the bag.
The extended handles can also be positioned for backpack-style carrying. A removable black Tanker shoulder strap supplied by the original owner is included, allowing the bag to be carried over the shoulder or across the body. The shoulder strap appears to be an added PORTER accessory rather than the original dedicated strap for this model.
The tonal black HEAD PORTER branding, white dot nylon and functional skate and travel details place the bag firmly within the early-to-mid-2000s Harajuku design period. It works as a weekend bag, gym bag, travel duffle or collectible Japanese archive piece.
The previous owner stated that the bag was purchased from HEAD PORTER in Harajuku approximately 20 years ago and had received very little use.

Grade B
Grading type: Standard
Very good pre-owned condition for an approximately 20-year-old archive bag. The black nylon shell remains dark and even, with the white micro-dot print clearly defined throughout. The bag retains its original structure with no visible holes, major staining, seam separation or significant fading.
The wide webbing handles, skateboard securing straps, hook-and-loop fastenings, zippers, clips and metal D-rings are all present. The black padded lining is clean and the internal organiser remains intact.
Visible age and use include localised fraying around one side D-ring webbing attachment, minor loose threads around the exterior HEAD PORTER patch and light surface wear to the removable shoulder strap. The clear internal organiser has storage creasing, light scratches and mild age-related clouding. There are also minor handling marks, lint and soft storage creasing across the nylon shell.
Visible Flaws
Localised fraying at one side D-ring attachment. Minor loose threads around the exterior logo patch. Light scuffing and clouding on the clear internal organiser. Minor storage creasing and surface lint. Original guarantee card missing.

About the Brand
HEAD PORTER was established in Harajuku in 1998, combining Yoshida Kaban’s specialist Japanese bag manufacturing with the creative direction and street-culture influence associated with Hiroshi Fujiwara. HEAD PORTER developed its own designs and commissioned Yoshida to manufacture them, creating more fashion-led and limited-distribution alternatives to conventional PORTER products.
Black Beauty became one of the label’s recognised collections, originally distinguished by its refined black materials and tonal branding. HEAD PORTER ceased operating under its original name after the Spring/Summer 2019 season, increasing collector interest in original Harajuku-era examples. The Black Beauty concept was subsequently carried forward by RAMIDUS.
