Description
A classic vintage Adolphe Lafont denim work jacket, estimated to have been produced during the late 1980s to early 1990s.
Unlike the lightweight blue work jackets most often associated with Lafont, this example follows the construction of a classic American blanket lined chore coat. It was made in the USA from blue cotton denim and finished with a broad brown corduroy collar, striped wool feel lining and a full metal snap closure.
The front has four large patch pockets, including two chest pockets and two deep lower pockets. Adjustable snap cuffs and a broad, straight body reinforce its practical workwear construction. The generous 66 cm chest and 56 cm shoulders give it a relaxed shape with enough room for a sweatshirt, knit or heavier shirt underneath.
The jacket has developed a strong vintage appearance through genuine use. The denim shows natural fading, small work marks and a lighter rectangular area above the chest pocket where an occupational patch was likely once attached. The blanket lining remains in very good condition and all essential metal hardware is present.
Pieces like this are harder to find than standard Lafont work jackets. Its estimated late 1980s to early 1990s era, American production, blanket lining and corduroy collar make it a distinctive crossover between French workwear history and traditional US utility clothing

Good vintage workwear condition with clear signs of previous use. The denim remains structurally strong and retains its shape. There is general fading and mild surface pilling throughout. The striped blanket lining is in very good condition with no major holes or separation. All front and cuff hardware is present.

Brown toned staining on the left cuff. Small green-toned mark near the front placket. Rectangular lighter area above the chest pocket consistent with a removed work patch. Minor loose threading and a small frayed area near the lower front edge. Light wear and loose threads around the cuff openings.
Vintage Workwear Character
The faded indigo denim, former chest patch outline, worn cuff edges and small work marks reflect genuine previous use. The wear is distributed naturally and suits the jacket’s original purpose without overwhelming the overall appearance.

Estimated to date from the late 1980s to early 1990s, it was manufactured in the USA and built in the style of an American blanket lined chore coat.
