Northern Outfitters is an Australian online store selling second-hand menswear, vintage workwear, Japanese labels, accessories and related goods.

These terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping page, Returns page, Condition Guide and Measurement Guide.

Use of this website

You agree to use this website for lawful purposes only. You must not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access or use the website in a way that may damage, disable or impair the store.

We may update, suspend, restrict or remove access to parts of the website at any time where needed for maintenance, security, operational or business reasons.

Product information

We aim to describe each product clearly and accurately. Product pages may include photos, condition grades, item notes, measurements, size recommendations, brand information and other product details.

Product photos, condition notes and measurements form part of the item description. Please review all available information before placing an order.

Pre-owned and vintage items

Most items sold by Northern Outfitters are pre-owned, vintage or both. Signs of age, wear, fading, repairs, marks, patina, fabric softening or other characteristics may be present.

These characteristics are not automatically faults. They may be expected for second-hand or vintage clothing, especially where they are shown in photos, described in the listing or consistent with the listed condition grade.

Condition descriptions

We use condition grades to help buyers understand the condition of each item. Standard pre-owned items and vintage workwear items may be assessed differently because workwear can have fading, repairs, paint marks and worn areas that are part of its appeal.

The Condition Guide explains how we assess items. If an item has specific flaws or details, these may be shown in the product photos, listed in the notes or included in the Condition Photos section.

Measurements and sizing

Tagged sizes can vary between brands, countries, eras and garment types. Recommended size is provided as a guide only.

Listed measurements should be treated as the main sizing guide. Please compare measurements with a similar garment you already own before placing an order.

Prices

Prices are shown in the currency displayed on the website. Prices may change at any time before an order is placed.

Unless stated otherwise, prices do not include customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees or local charges that may apply to international orders.

Orders

An order is placed when you complete checkout and submit payment. After an order is placed, you may receive an order confirmation email.

We reserve the right to cancel or refund an order where an item is unavailable, listed incorrectly, affected by a pricing or inventory error, suspected to involve fraud or unable to be shipped to the address provided.

Payment

Payment must be completed through the payment methods available at checkout. Orders may not be dispatched until payment has been received or confirmed.

Payment processing may be handled by third-party payment providers. Their terms, security processes and privacy practices may also apply.

Shipping

Orders are shipped from Melbourne, Australia. Shipping rates, available shipping methods and delivery options are shown at checkout where available.

Delivery times are estimates only and may be affected by carrier delays, customs processing, local postal services, incorrect delivery information or other events outside our control.

International orders, customs and duties

International customers are responsible for customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees and local charges applied by their country unless clearly stated otherwise at checkout.

Northern Outfitters is not responsible for delays caused by customs processing or local import requirements.

Returns and refunds

Our Returns page explains how we assess return requests. We do not accept returns for change of mind, sizing issues where measurements were provided or expected pre-owned/vintage wear where that wear was shown, described or consistent with the listed condition grade.

If an item arrives with a significant issue that was not shown or described, contact us with your order number and clear photos of the concern so it can be reviewed.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms, our Returns page, our Shipping page or any store policy limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

If a product has a major problem that was not shown or described, you may be entitled to a remedy under Australian Consumer Law. If you believe there is a major issue with your order, contact us so the matter can be reviewed.

Accuracy and availability

We aim to keep product listings, pricing, stock status and website information accurate. Errors may occur from time to time.

We may correct errors, update information, cancel affected orders or issue refunds where necessary.

Website content

Website text, images, layout, product descriptions, branding and other content are owned by or licensed to Northern Outfitters unless stated otherwise.

You must not copy, reproduce, scrape, republish or commercially exploit website content without permission.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Northern Outfitters is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from use of the website, delayed delivery, website downtime or purchase of products.

Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
