First introduced in 1983, the TANKER collection takes inspiration from the MA-1 flight jackets worn by the United States Air Force. Its defining characteristic is an original three-layer fabric construction comprising nylon twill, a soft intermediate polyester layer and nylon taffeta lining. The result is an exceptionally lightweight, flexible and distinctive fabric with a softly padded feel.
This example is presented in classic black, complemented by contrasting silver-tone hardware and the collection’s signature vibrant rescue-orange lining. The restrained exterior, distinctive texture and beautifully considered hardware make the bag immediately recognisable without excessive branding.
The front features two separate flap pockets, each secured with a metal snap fastener, providing convenient access to smaller essentials. The main compartment opens with a substantial silver-tone PORTER-branded zipper and reveals the orange interior, with additional organisation for smaller belongings.

Excellent near-new pre-owned condition. A particularly clean and well-maintained example, with very limited visible evidence of previous use.
The black nylon exterior presents exceptionally well, retaining its original appearance, texture and softly structured form. No significant staining, tears or fabric damage have been reported. The exterior panels, pocket flaps and visible seams all present extremely well.
The original PORTER Yoshida & Co. woven logo is in excellent condition, with clean lettering, sharply defined embroidery and no notable damage.
Both front snap fasteners are present, with only a very small superficial scratch noted on one fastener. This is minor cosmetic wear consistent with normal use.
The main metal zipper operates correctly, and the original PORTER-branded zipper pull remains intact and in very good condition.
The signature rescue-orange interior is exceptionally clean, retaining strong colour and showing minimal evidence of previous use. Internal storage compartments, snap fasteners and Velcro closures are also in excellent condition, with minimal signs of wear.
The adjustable webbing strap and plastic buckle present well, completing an exceptionally tidy example of this sought-after Japanese design.
